Oppenheimer en Barbie aan top bij de Golden Globes
In Hollywood zijn de nominaties voor de Golden Globes weer bekend gemaakt en daarmee is 'awards season' van start. Welke films scoren nou hoge ogen bij de verschillende jury's? Welke smaakmakers zijn er nu en maken kans op een Oscar later dit jaar? De Globes vormen altijd de eerste graadmeter en de nominaties zijn bekend.
Barbie heeft dit jaar de meeste nominaties te pakken: 9 om precies te zijn, waaronder Beste Film (Komedie of Musical), Beste Actrice voor Margot Robbie en Beste Bijrol voor Ryan Gosling. Oppenheimer moest het doen met 8 nominaties, waarna Killers on the Flower Moon en Poor Things het rijtje afmaken met 7. Bij de Globes zijn er ook altijd prijzen voor series. The Bear gooit daar hoge ogen met vijf nominaties maar valt in het niet met 9 nominaties voor Succession waar bijna de hele cast een nominatie heeft gekregen voor zijn of haar bijdrage.
Dit jaar is er ook een nieuwe categorie: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures. Deze categorie is speciaal in het leven geroepen om publieksfavorieten in het zonnetje te zetten. De film moet internationaal minstens 150 miljoen dollar hebben opgebracht, waarvan 100 miljoen in de USA.
