'Aantal gamers met hoofdpijn valt mee'
Het aantal gamers dat hun 3DS terugbrengt naar de winkel of contact opneemt met Nintendo vanwege hoofdpijn valt reuze mee, aldus Nintendo. Ze reageren hiermee op geruchten dat Nintendo 3DS massaal teruggebracht wordt door gamers met hoofdpijn en duizeligheid. Er zijn wel wat gevallen bekend van retouren, maar minder dan bij andere launches.
"The number of calls and emails with queries on Nintendo 3DS is in fact well below the rate experienced during past hardware launches and having spoken with our retail partners there are only a handful of people who have actually gone into stores to request a refund."
Nintendo herhaalde ook maar eens dat 3DS een slider heeft waarmee je het 3D-effect kunt versterken of helemaal kunt uitzetten. Ook raden ze aan regelmatig pauze te nemen, zeker als je denkt dat je last krijgt van hoofdprijn en/of duizeligheid. Twijfel je over een aanschaf, ga dan eerst in de winkel de nieuwe handheld uitproberen.

Winkelketens GAME en HMV in Engeland bevestigen het verhaal van Nintendo en melden dat er vrijwel niets terugkomt vanwege klachten. "We've had less than five people complain that they feel sick and want to return", aldus GAME. HMV: "We would like to make clear that we are not aware of any manufacturing fault with the 3DS console - which we have seen huge demand for, and that we have not issued any refunds for it".
De launch van Nintendo 3DS was voor Nintendo hun grootste start ooit in Engeland met ruim 113.000 verkochte units in slechts twee dagen.
