PS3 behaalt de één miljoen in Europa

De PlayStation 3 heeft in Europa de mijlpaal van één miljoen verkochte units gehaald. De nieuwste console van Sony deed dat in minder dan tien weken.

David Reeves (Sony Europa) is blij met deze aantallen en weet zelfs te vertellen dat dit sneller is dan de PSOne en PS2: That was faster than both PS2 and PSOne. And I think that the analysts out there will also realise that it�s faster than our brothers and sisters in the competitive world.

Wat betreft de softwareverkopen kan Sony ook redelijk tevreden zijn; first party software ging in totaal ruim twee miljoen keer over de toonbank met Resistance (600.000) en MotorStorm (500.00) als best verkopende titels.

Het aantal online users voor de PS3 in Europa staat op dit moment op 460.000, bijna de helft dus. Sony wil echter geen vergelijking making met Xbox Live: I don't feel we're competing with Xbox Live in any way. We're in a different stadium. And with the introduction of Home at Christmas, we're going in a completely different direction with something very entertaining.
