Valve games komen naar de Mac
Nadat Valve onsubtiele hints op de wereld losliet komen ze nu met de bevestiging, ze brengen games naar de Mac. Ze zullen Steam op de Mac lanceren en deze zal Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal en de Half-life serie met zich meebrengen.
Valve vindt de Mac erg belangrijk, zo zei de baas van Steam Development, John Cook het volgende:
"We looked at a variety of methods to get our games onto the Mac and in
the end decided to go with native versions rather than emulation. The inclusion of WebKit into
Steam, and of OpenGL into Source gives us a lot of flexibility in how
we move these technologies forward. We are treating the Mac as a tier-1
platform so all of our future games will release simultaneously on
Windows, Mac, and the Xbox 360.''
Of deze stap van Valve andere Third-Party bedrijven naar de Mac brengt moet nog blijken. Steam en de games komen in april uit voor de Mac.
