Evil Genius 2 staat op de planning
Rebellion laat op hun blog weten dat een échte opvolger van Evil Genius gemaakt gaat worden. Veel fans waren teleurgesteld dat de nieuwe Evil Genius geen volledige opvolger was, maar een free-to-play-variant.
In een open brief laat Rebellion weten dat de studio altijd al van plan was om een "full-featured PC follow-up" uit te brengen.
“When Jason – Rebellion’s CEO and co-founder – tweeted earlier in the year about a potential follow up to Evil Genius, he wasn’t talking about Evil Genius Online, which was already in development by a small team here in our Oxford studio.”
“We’ve always wanted to make a fully-featured PC follow-up. We’ve taken concepts for an Evil Genius sequel to publishers before but we weren’t able to secure the funding we needed. However since then, we’ve looked into alternative ways to get this game funded and created. We are going to make this happen. And it’s going to be soon." aldus Rebellion

De originele Evil Genius kwam uit in 2004. Op dit moment is Evil Genius Online in ontwikkeling, een spel die de nadruk legt op 'social features'. Evil Genius Online komt uit op Facebook en Zynga.com
