'Next-gen Xbox bevat Windows 8'
Brian Hall, general manager van Microsoft, zal vannacht nog wel eens nadenken wat hij heeft verteld. In een recente interview over Outlook heeft hij namelijk per ongeluk aangegeven dat de nieuwe Xbox mogelijk Windows 8 draait.
“We’ve had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about 16 years, we obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work. We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office with the new Windows phone and the new Xbox.” aldus Brian Hall.
Het is maar de vraag of het hier om een ongelukje gaat, of om miscommunicatie in het gesprek. Zowel Windows 8 alsmede Windows Phone 8 lanceren dit jaar, Office 2013 wordt in het voorjaar van 2013 verwacht. Wanneer we een nieuwe Xbox kunnen verwachten, blijft tot op heden een groot geheim.
