Mick McCarthy per direct weg bij Ierland

Mick McCarthy is door z'n ruzie met Roy Keane en een het slechte begin van de EK-kwalificatie per direct ontslagen als bondscoach bij het Ierse Elftal.
Ook McCarthy's assistent Ian Evans stopt. John Toshack wordt genoemd als belangrijkste kandidaat om McCarthy op te volgen. McCarthy werd in 1996 bondscoach als opvolger van Jack Charlton.
