Microsoft: Xbox Live moet aseksueel blijven

Die arme Richard Gaywood heeft het al eens moeten verduren: Verbanning van xboxlive om een seksueel getinte uitdrukking in de naam.

Bij Teresa bleek het zelfs nog verder te gaan. Zij vertelde haar verhaal aan Kotaku over hoe ze werd buitengesloten van de live community omdat ze in haar profiel had gezet dat ze lesbienne is:

"I was harassed by several players, 'chased' to different maps/games to get away from their harassment. They followed me into the games and told all the other players to turn me in because they didn't want to see that crap or their kids to see that crap."

Tot overmaat van ramp heeft Microsoft haar account geblokkeerd, tot zij haar naam veranderd heeft. Na alle ophef die rondom dit dilemma kwam gaf Microsoft de volgende reactie aan IGN.

As stated in the Xbox Live Terms of Use, a member may not create a gamertag or use text in other profile fields that include comments that look, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate content of a potentially sexual nature.

Ook laat Microsoft weten dat ze Xbox Live aseksueel willen houden, en dat dus ook namen zoals 'TheStraighterGamer' of 'TheHeterosexualgamer' geblokkeerd zullen worden.

Teresa zal dus offline moeten blijven spelen, tot ze een correcte naam verzonnen heeft.
