Geen gamescom en TGS voor Microsoft
Microsoft is tijdens de aankomende gamescom en Tokyo Game Show op beide beurzen afwezig. Dat geeft Larry Hryb (Major Nelson), Director of Programming van Xbox Live, aan op zijn website. Eerder waren er al annuleringen van THQ, Sega en Nintendo waarvan alle niet op de gamescom aanwezig zijn.
Microsoft is van plan om zich dit jaar te richten op kleinere en meer gelokaliseerde promoties voor pers en partners. "This year, Xbox will be focusing on smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers and customers around the world. Which means that as you might have seen on some of the news sites today, we won’t be taking part in gamescom or Tokyo Games Show this year", aldus Larry Hryb. De gamescom 2012 vindt van 15 tot en met 19 augustus 2012 plaats in Keulen.
