'3DS wordt ook Wii U-controller'

De controller van de Wii U ziet eruit als een duur bakbeest. Veel gamers vrezen daarom dat de nieuwe console van Nintendo te duur wordt voor diegenen die steevast meerdere controllers in huis halen. Nintendo bevestigde echter dat de Wii U slechts één controller per console ondersteunt.

Als alternatief voor de Wiipad, zoals de nieuwe controller door fans wordt genoemd, wordt mogelijk de 3DS gebruikt. “Our basic premise is that you can use one [Wii U-controller] with a system,” aldus Miyamoto. “If we got to an idea of having multiple (controllers) it might be just more convenient for people to use their Nintendo 3DS and have a way to connect that."

Nintendo overweegt wel om alsnog meerdere Wiipads te ondersteunen, “That being said, we are doing research about if someone brings their controller to their friends house and they want to play together on Wii U to whether or not something like that would be possible.”
