Microsoft komt met "fantastische" onthullingen op E3

David Gosen, marketing manager bij Microsoft, heeft gehint dat op de E3 die deze maand in Los Angeles gehouden wordt "fantastic surprises" worden onthuld. Microsoft heeft dus nog een aantal grote onthullingen te doen. Misschien toch de aankondigng van de Wiimote voor de 360? Gosen houdt zijn mond dicht over de inhoud van de onthullingen.

"It would be churlish of me to ruin the fantastic surprises awaiting everybody at E3," aldus Gosen. "Clearly we'll use that to make a number of announcements.

"We place a huge amount of importance on R&D and innovation. We're always working on new things. And you'll continue to hear lots of things from us that we believe to be game-changing. But you'll just have to wait for those to be officially announced by us."

Microsofts aankomende persconferentie schijnt al deels uitgelekt te zijn, zo is de kans erg groot dat we de aankondigingen van Forza 3 en Lips zullen krijgen, en natuurlijk de Xbox Mii's.

De aankondiging van een Wiimote voor de 360 lijkt onwaarschijnlijk. Gosen reageert op die geruchten door aan te geven dat de huidige controller nog gewoon voldoet: "We know it is all about simplicity in the mass market. We can do that without a controller - we can do that with today's controller. [..] For me, casual gaming is really a mindset rather than a genre. It's got to be easy to play a difficult to master. Games studios can design games that are appealing to everyone without getting to the lowest common denominator."

De E3 gaat op 14 juli officieel van start, en zal tot en met 17 juli gaan duren.
