Aaron Greenberg heeft oplossing voor ruimtegebrek 360

Sinds Microsoft aankondigde dat mensen binnenkort via Xbox Live Marketplace films en series kunnen downloaden, lopen flink wat mensen zich af te vragen waar ze die bestanden kwijt moeten op hun 20GB harde schijf; met name als het in HD-kwaliteit is, is dit namelijk erg weinig ruimte. Maar geen zorgen, Captain Obvious komt ons redden. Aaron Greenberg van Microsoft heeft hier namelijk een prachtige oplossing voor bedacht; hij merkte op dat de harde schijf los te koppelen is en er bij ruimtegebrek dus gewoon een andere op kan.

Om te zorgen dat je gamer-profile ook nog werkt, moet je wel een memorycard kopen om je gegevens daar op kwijt te kunnen. Dat dit stevig in de kosten gaat lopen is niet bij de beste man opgekomen waarschijnlijk.

You know what, I don't know. At this point we're not ready yet to roll out a bigger hard drive. I can tell you what people tell me they do to get around this. What they do is they put their Live account on a memory unit and then they have one hard drive that they put their games or related content on, and then they have another drive that they put their movies and TV on. So you know, this isn't ideal, but there's some ways to work around that today. If you download the content on one hard drive, and save your Live account on the memory unit, you can still have your hard drives hold all the content. That's not a perfect workaround, but there's some flexibility that people can do.

Aangezien de geruchten van een grotere harde schijf vrij hardnekkig zijn al een paar maanden is het misschien verstandiger om te wachten totdat die officieel wordt. Mocht je wel bereid zijn tot een investering van �140 voor een extra harde schijf en memorycard dan kun je Greenbergs oplossing natuurlijk nemen.
