Miyamoto: "Metroid zou voordeel halen uit Wii U-controller"
Nintendo's legendarische ontwikkelaar werd in een interview met IGN gevraagd welke Nintendo-franchises hij graag op de Wii U zou willen zien. Mario's vader antwoordde daarop dat hij Metroid interessant zou zijn voor de controller. Verder werd ook Star Fox genoemd.
"With Metroid it's very easy to imagine some interesting implementation for Wii U," aldus Miyamoto. "I think that having another screen with the gyro built in really gives you a lot of interesting opportunities for development, and we can bring a lot of our games to life in a completely unique way with that. I feel like the possibilities of the GamePad for Metroid could be really fantastic. There's certainly a lot that you could do there for that game."
Bij verdere navraag wou Miyamoto geen concreet antwoord of details vrijgeven, maar hij gaf wel aan dat hij persoonlijk het liefst nog Star Fox op de Wii U zou willen zien.
Helaas werd een nieuwe F-Zero niet genoemd.
