Sony: 'PS3 kan net zo succesvol worden als PS2'

Sony CEO Howard Stringer denkt dat de PS3 het succes van de PS2 zou kunnen evenaren. Dit zei hij aan de hand van de laatst bekend gemaakte verkoopcijfers, waarin de PlayStation 3 veel meer verkoopt dan voorheen:

The momentum shift and the energy behind PS3 in time for Christmas is extremely fortuitous.
[...]"

Stringer zei ook dat de trage start van de PS3 geen probleem moet zijn om de recordsbrekende PS2 te evenaren:
"[...]
I think this momentum now - particularly the number of games coming out, including our own as well as third-party - is the same as it was with PlayStation 2, saying that, despite the slow start, PS3 is "not behind the curve compared to PlayStation 2 in terms of momentum.
