Julian Lennon protesteert tegen oorlog met "Imagine"
De Russische invasie van Oekraïne bracht Julian Lennon ertoe om voor het eerst het lied "Imagine" van zijn vader in het openbaar te zingen. Lennon twitterde dat de oorlog een "onvoorstelbare tragedie" was en in een video zong hij het iconische lied van John Lennon over een eerlijkere, vreedzamere wereld.
Net als veel andere sterren over de hele wereld, maakt hij deel uit van de social media-campagne 'Stand Up for Ukraine'. Vrijdag riep ze op tot donaties voor vluchtelingen uit Oekraïne. Tientallen muzikanten, filmmakers en sportgrootheden gebruiken de campagne om politieke druk uit te oefenen en humanitaire hulp te eisen.
