MGS3: Snake Eater 3DS komt in 2012

Metal Gear Solid 3, Snake Eater 3D zal helaas dit jaar niet meer uitkomen in Europa, heeft Konami nu officieel bevestigd. De vrijgegeven datum had betrekking op de Japanse releasedatum en in het verre Oosten zullen ze dus wel tegen het einde van het jaar MGS 3 op hun 3DS kunnen spelen.

Een leuk feit is dat dit de eerste Nintendo 3DS-game gaat worden op een 4GB kaart in plaats van de standaard 2GB. Creative producer Yoshikazu Matsuhana van Kojima Productions deelde mee dat ze Nintendo hebben moeten verzoeken een uitzondering te maken voor de game. Het was simpelweg niet mogelijk een game van 4.7GB te reduceren tot 2GB legt Matsuhana uit.

"In the beginning, Nintendo did announce 2GB cartridges but the thing is, we're coming from a DVD format. Really on the PlayStation 2 at that point, even before we upped the resolution, it was taking up almost the full 4.7GB on the DVD. We really couldn't bring that down to two, so at the very beginning we spoke with Nintendo and told them we had this problem and asked if there was anything it could do to help us out.

Luckily, Nintendo said that 2GB wasn't the hard limit and that eventually it was thinking of raising the size. We asked if we could be the first ones to do so and luckily they gave us the okay."

Hiermee laat Nintendo zien dat ze hun stugge, eigenwijze karakter richting third party-ontwikkelaars werkelijk hebben laten varen. Iets wat al duidelijk werd in hun Wii U-presentatie.  Volgens velen  een zeer positieve ontwikkeling van Nintendo die veel te lang op zich heeft laten wachten.
