Yoshi is ook in Japan nog steeds erg populair. Zijn nieuwste game, Yoshi's Island DS, is op ��n binnen gekomen in de Japanse softwarelijsten:

Opvallend is het doorbreken van de 1M grens door Wii Play, de tweede Wii millionseller in Japan na Wii Sports. Een game die volgende week waarschijnlijk de 1M aantikt is Monster Hunter 2 voor de PSP, deze game zal de eerste millionseller voor de PSP zijn in Japan.
